Structured Cabling Field Superintendent — Atlanta, GA

 

We are looking for a proactive, self-motivated, organized, punctual person to fill the position of Field Supervisor in Atlanta, GA. The successful candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be able to multitask and meet deadlines, demonstrate strong time management skills and provide excellent customer service.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply sound project planning techniques to efficiently conduct all assigned jobs and all assigned job crews
  • Study, understand and conform to the scope and specifications for all assigned projects
  • Regularly communicate with the Customer and keep Customer’s expectations in comfortable alignment at all times
  • Coordinate all project activity with assigned job crews, end-users and vendors
  • Maintain Daily Reports and Weekly Reports of all projects assigned
  • Proactively support the Project Manager to deliver quality results, on time and on budget for satisfied customers
  • Oversees and performs the installation, testing and documentation of network cabling (this is a “hands on” position)
  • Assure and enforce quality dressing and routing of cables around work stations as well as behind the scenes
  • Interpret blue prints
  • Enforce fire-stop of various types for all cable penetrations to scope and to code
  • Regularly updates the Project Manager as to progress, obstacles, labor and materials budget performance for all assigned jobs
  • Communicate with Project Manager on all issues which may impact the project
  • Determine and report all project scope changes, issues or questions to the Project Manager, particularly those which may result in a Change Order
  • Provide regular direct feedback to their assigned crew as to their performance and results. How is the job tracking? How did the job come in?  Why?  What did we learn?  What will we do differently/better next time?
  • While the Superintendent is expected to perform hands-on field work on a regular basis, they are also responsible to lead, train, develop and measure the performance of their assigned Lead Techs, Foremen and Technicians
  • Continuously enforces all jobsite safety requirements and standards

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the below stated qualifications.  These qualifications are representative of the required knowledge, skills and/or abilities:

  • 5+ Years previous experience
  • Clean driving record
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test, criminal background check and driving record check
  • Ability and willingness to support moderate to high levels of business travel. The successful candidate should expect to spend 3+ weeks out of town each month.
  • Possess a high school diploma; college credits or technical school certification a plus
  • Constant attention to detail, quality and service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced interpersonal skills
  • Punctual and maintains a professional demeanor at all times, including dress and hygiene, and enforces the same with their assigned crew

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Determines, monitors, and reviews all project economics to include costs, operational budgets, staffing requirements, resources, and risk.
  • Manage the technical customer relationship including developing technical requirements, review all customer deliverables and present technical solutions to the Sales Representative.
  • Provide technical advice within the organization for strategic alignment and development and provide technical support throughout the lifecycle of an opportunity and project
  • Build strategic working relationships with subcontractors/Technical Partners to accomplish goals and objectives

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Proven ability to effectively meet customer’s needs and take responsibility for customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Ability to investigate and solve complex problems and implement related work improvements with team members
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Expert knowledge of OSP and ISP infrastructure required
  • Experience with Electronic Safety and Security, AV and CCTV Verticals preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
  • Must be well versed in BICSI rules, regulations, and standards.
  • Must be able to multi-task effectively and work in a fast-paced environment
  • 5+ years industry related estimating/design experience required
  • BICSI RCDD preferred
  • AutoCAD experience required
  • Adobe Pro experience required
  • Working knowledge of Project scheduling/CRM software i.e. Salesforce, MS Excel, Visio
  • Specialized experience with the specific AV systems, i.e., Projectors/Screens, Monitors, switchers, control platforms, etc.
  • Specialized experience with the specific security systems, i.e., card readers, cameras, monitors, access control systems, etc.
  • Expert competency in QuickBooks
  • Must be able to type 40+ WPM
  • U.S. Citizen or person with valid U.S. Work Visa who has lived in the U.S. for 3+ years
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Flexibility to work beyond regular working hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. including some weekend work, depending on customer commitments.
  • The ability to work independently in a stand-alone function and to prepare all necessary documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
